Jay began cutting hair at just 12 years old in the projects of San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he quickly discovered both a passion and a natural talent for the craft. By age 14, he formally began studying barbering in a vocational high school in San Juan, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong profession.

With over 30 years of experience behind the chair, from the projects in Puerto Rico to the streets of the south Bronx in NYC, Jay has dedicated his career to mastering the art of barbering and men’s grooming. He continued expanding his education by studying Cosmetology in 2009 and again in 2021, further refining his skills in advanced cutting, hair color, and modern styling techniques.

Jay is widely known for delivering exceptional service and creating a true grooming experience, not just a haircut. His specialties include precision scissor cuts, modern and challenging hairstyles, platinum blonde services, and expert color work. With decades of experience, he is also recognized as a fade master, capable of executing flawless blends and clean finishes.

Beyond haircuts, Jay is an expert in beard design and grooming, from classic Italian beard styles to traditional long beards, as well as traditional straight razor shaves that reflect old-world barbering craftsmanship.

Jay has built a reputation for exceeding expectations and takes pride in working with clients who demand perfection. In fact, he welcomes the challenge of clients who are difficult to please, believing that the pursuit of perfection is what elevates the craft.
